While the extensive rainfall that continues across South-East Queensland has been less than ideal, we have continued civil construction at The Sanctuary albeit at a much slower pace. Importantly, the significant community infrastructure upgrades in Warner are under construction and will be delivered this year.

We thank you, as always, for your ongoing patience as we continue to undertake this work in your community.

Warner Road Upgrade

The 300-metre temporary traffic diversion adjacent to Warner Road (between approximately 94 Warner Road and 48 Warner Road) is now sealed, which has allowed for the existing Warner Road to be temporarily closed for upgrading. While the diversion is open, speed limits along this section of Warner Road are reduced to 40km/hour. During upgrade works, the civil contractor and Ausbuild representatives will liaise closely with locally affected neighbours regarding access to their properties.

Weather pending, the $2.42 million upgrade is forecast for completion at the end of September, which will see Warner Road lifted by 1.7 metres at the creek crossing to sit above the 1 in 100-year flood event level. A fauna underpass will also be created to allow the safe passage of wildlife. Once the upgrade is finalised and reopened to vehicles, the temporary traffic diversion will be dismantled.

In recent months, construction has focused on carrying out bulk earthworks, installing sewer and stormwater drains, and retaining walls at The Sanctuary and to the local park, and preparing the internal road network.

Coorparoo Road and South Pine Road Intersection Upgrade

Construction of the new signalised intersection at Coorparoo Road and South Pine Road, Brendale is on track to be completed at the end of June. This essential $2.044 million project will improve road safety and is being delivered by Ausbuild as part of its ongoing commitment to deliver community infrastructure that benefits the Warner and adjacent communities.

Hours of work have remained unchanged, occurring after hours only (Sunday to Thursday) on South Pine Road, and during both daylight hours (6:30am to 6:30pm Monday to Saturday) and after hours on Coorparoo Street. All direction access through this intersection continues to be provided to all road users 24 hours a day, seven days a week, however some minor delays may be possible as we finalise works.
