Botanica Development Bulletin | March 2023

We are pleased to share an update on the development progress at Botanica, Ausbuild’s newest master-planned community in Ormiston.

An additional 16 lots have just been released at Botanica. On completion, the community will deliver 44 new homes, new pedestrian/cyclist access from Frances Street to Ormiston College, and a fully rehabilitated, 9,000sqm nature reserve – a treasured space to be gifted to Redland City Council, for the protection of wildlife and the enjoyment of the community.

Site Works

Botanica is located on the site of the former nursery on Francis Street, Ormiston. It will be delivered across two stages.

Site preparation work for Stage 1 commenced mid last year and is now nearing completion. The civil works contract for Stage 2 is expected to be awarded in the coming weeks, with demolition of the former nursery scheduled to commence in April.

Civil works are undertaken between the approved hours of 6:20 am to 6:30 pm, Monday to Friday, and subject to weather conditions. Please observe all road signage and changes during this construction period.

Traffic and Accessibility

Traffic Management Plans remain in place to manage safe access for residents and emergency services to and from the Botanica site via Dundas Street. All trucks entering and exiting the site are required to follow an approved transport route outside of peak school hours. The community is asked to observe all road signage and changing conditions during construction.

Environmental Safeguards

Special fencing remains in place on the western boundary of the site to keep wildlife within the established habitat area and away from the construction site during the civil and construction phases. Best practice dust and sediment mitigation continues throughout the civil works for the protection of our neighbours, and local creeks and wildlife.
