The inaugural Ausbuild Community Challenge brought together community groups and businesses from across the City of Moreton Bay. Together, they supported causes including youth programs, homelessness, domestic and family violence support, disability services, animal welfare and community wellbeing.
Eighteen Community Teams joined five Corporate Teams to compete in light-hearted challenges, raising an incredible $83,721. Ausbuild contributed $50,000, with a further $33,721 raised through corporate support, raffles and auctions.
Congratulations to PCYC Deception Bay and their Corporate Team partner Studio Pilates Strathpine on taking out first place and securing $9,209.31 in funding, with even the lowest-scoring team receiving $2,616.28, ensuring every group walked away a winner.
Hosted by Leisel Jones OAM, the event truly put the “fun” back in fundraising.
A huge thank you to our partners Moreton Daily and Village Motors, to Cr Jodie Shipway and Cr Cath Tonks from the City of Moreton Bay for joining us on the day and assisting with presentations, and to the many local businesses and individuals who donated prizes and auction items to help make the event such a success.
After a successful debut, the Ausbuild Community Challenge will return in 2026. Thank you to every team, partner and supporter who made it possible.
Ausbuild has proudly hosted the annual Housing for Happiness Gala for the second year in a row. With a genuine passion for building communities and making a meaningful difference in Moreton Bay, our partnership with Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism helped raise much needed funds for Chameleon Youth Housing.
Our work with Chameleon Youth Housing will support their bid to open a second share house for young people and provide emergency accommodation for some of the region’s most vulnerable. We’re proud to announce that since 2022, Ausbuild and our Housing for Happiness Gala have raised $213,000 for Chameleon Youth Housing – $103,000 in 2022, followed by an additional $110,000 in 2023.
