Community at the Core: Ausbuild and Dolphins Renew Partnership and Celebrate Local Veterans

Ausbuild has been sponsoring the Dolphins NRL team since 2022 and is now entering a new chapter of this sponsorship while honouring its community partner, Brisbane North Districts RSL. The RSL received a signed ANZAC Dolphins jersey on 10 July 2026 to recognise the veterans and their families who took part in a memorable game-day experience earlier in the season. The presentation of the jersey coincided with Ausbuild’s confirmation of its extended partnership with the Dolphins, signing on until the end of the 2029 NRL season.

The RSL was selected as Ausbuild’s community partner for the Round 9 game against the Melbourne Storm, the club’s closest home game to the ANZAC Round. More than 150 veterans and their families came to support the Dolphins and proudly represent over 20 RSL Subbranches across the region. Veterans joined Ausbuild to form a Guard of Honour before kick-off, while others supported the players from the grandstands and celebrated their accomplishments on the big screen at Kayo Stadium.

RSL District President Mark Orreal, who served 21 years in the Australian Army, said the opportunity Ausbuild gave the RSL resonated strongly across their community.

"Our Brisbane North District represents more than 20 RSL Subbranches, so bringing veterans and their families together from places like Redcliffe, Deception Bay, Samford and Sandgate made the experience even more special,” said Mr Orreal.

He noted the pride he felt for his District when receiving the jersey and recognition from the Dolphins NRL team and Ausbuild.

"It will take pride of place within our District as a lasting reminder of the respect shown to our veterans and the wonderful experience our members were able to share together, Mr Orreal said.

The jersey presentation is just one of the ways Ausbuild has used its partnership with the NRL to connect with its community partners and highlight their efforts to connect with the communities they build with.

Ausbuild’s Joint Managing Director Matt Bell spoke to his sense of responsibility to use the sponsorship as more than a marketing opportunity, but as a chance to connect with the people in the communities Ausbuild creates.

"As a home builder, we're passionate about creating communities, but it's the people within them who make those communities special.” "When we first partnered with the Dolphins, we made a commitment that this would be much more than a sponsorship," Mr Bell said.

As part of the renewed partnership, Ausbuild will also further its presence on game days, with the Ausbuild logo featuring on the Dolphins’ playing shorts alongside its existing position on the club’s training jersey.

Dolphins Chief Executive Officer Terry Reader said the partnership the Dolphins honour with Ausbuild has become about much more than sponsorship.

"We are very pleased that our partnership with Ausbuild continues to grow,” “That partnership is based around the benefits that Ausbuild provides the community organisations they interact with, and we are proud to be part of those efforts in our local communities,” Mr Reader said.

Ausbuild hopes to continue its work with its community partners over the coming years and continue to support the Dolphins NRL team.
