Ausbuild Insight - Edition 13
Customer Focus with Ron Loney CEO

Ausbuild has drawn directly on the feedback from clients in releasing the first design in a new wave of Ausbuild two storey Town Homes created specifically for narrow homesites.

The ‘Hendra’ heralds the arrival of the company’s new range of Town Homes which are ideally suited to some near-city addresses as well as special precincts in masterplanned communities.

And in creating four versions of the Hendra, Ausbuild has seized the opportunity to include the options of media, leisure and indulgence zones in a series of homes already featuring the choice four or five bedrooms in homes ranging from around 272 square metres, to just over 300 metres.

All have a home width of 8.9 metres allowing them to build on 10 metre wide blocks.

While Ausbuild has been designing and building Town Homes for several years, many clients who contracted to build them, also applied their own architectural tailoring to reflect individual preferences.

“Some of the innovative features which we developed in conjunction with our clients, along with a clearer definition of which elements in the original designs were considered to be the most outstanding, have now been blended into Ausbuild’s second wave of Town Homes, said Mr Matt Bell, Ausbuild’s Sales and Development Director.

In creating the new designs, Ausbuild also has developed some street front facades designed specifically to comply with the residential character code required in some locations.

“Building a Town Home ordinarily will mean that the owner is subject to a building covenant, a character code requirement or a municipal small lot code.”Mr Bell said.

“We therefore put a substantial effort into developing a range of facades that included ones which would be deemed to comply with prevailing character code constraints.

It also gave our design team a great challenge – create a home with impressive and contemporary street front appeal, which simultaneously harmonises with the older homes that ultimately might be neighbouring properties.”

While the Hendra is the first in the new Town Home series and already has been built and furnished as a display home at Gumdale on Brisbane’s eastside, other variants are about to be released.

They include merged versions of the previous Ascot and Manly designs. The result sees clients having the option of choosing to have living areas located upstairs or downstairs.

The Hendra is on display in Terraldon Street, Gumdale where staff can be telephoned on 07 3890 7539.
