Ausbuild Insight - Edition 13
Montego Innovation

Ausbuild has thrown open the spaces and added a cost saving and water saving roof design to its new Montego home range unveiled with a new display home.

A traditional home design suited to allotments with frontages of 17.5 metres and more, the Montego is offered in three main versions, all of which include a Kidzone where youngsters' bedrooms, television and games spaces, toilet and bathroom, are clustered together into an adults-free precinct.

Two other versions add a Leisure-zone for universal applications including an open television and relaxation area with dwarf walls; a closed home theatre area, or snooker retreat; and an Indulgence-zone which introduces resort-style pampering to the master bedroom and ensuite.

The zonal packaging is perfectly achieved by a broad floorplan that is bolstered further by convenience features such as walk-in linen cupboard beside the laundry and built-in broom cupboards.

The shape of the floorplan also enables expansive, single span roof lines to be used.

They not only carve through construction costs, but also provide for efficient water capture without the need for a multitude of downpipes running alongside the home, to above ground water tanks.

"Another key advantage of the roof design is how it creates flexibility with the alfresco areas off the living and meals area," according to Ausbuild's Sales and Business Development Director, Mr Matt Bell.

"Cupboard and storage spaces still remain key priorities for people sitting through home plans when deciding which home to build," he said.

"That's one reason why Ausbuild's design staff have used the Montego to set a higher standard for storage space by including a walk-in linen cupboard, double door pantry, and built-in robes in every one of the four bedrooms."

Mr Bell said the greater areas of space were evident after having walked a metre or two through the front door.

"Once you have cleared the entry, you can look right through the home to the living area and outdoor entertainment zones-it creates an impressive feeling of spaciousness."

The Montego ranges in size from 241 square metres to almost 290 square metres and is priced from $161,600.

Larger versions of the Montego - those including Leisure or Induldgence zones, also have a gallery kitchen rather than the L-shaped one in the standard Montego with Kidzone.

The Montego on display at The Links, Gumdale has been created with Ausbuild's coastal facade - one that draws on the elements of resort living.

Five other facades are available including the Mediterranean-inspired Classico, the Tropic, the Caulfield which provides a contemporary interpretation of southern styles, the Island and the more traditional Nova.

The Montego display is in on display in Terraldon Street, Gumdale where staff can be telephoned on 07 3890 7539.

The display is open from Monday to Thursdays from noon to 5pm, and from 10am to 5pm on weekends.
